A: A bed bug is parasite that feeds on the blood of humans.
A: Bed bugs have an oval shaped body and often are a reddish-brown in color. They don't have wings and cannot fly. A typical adult bed bug is about ¼ inch in diameter, it can be compared to the size of an apple seed. Nymphs can be much smaller than that.
A: Bed bugs are visible to the naked eye but due to their nocturnal and cryptic nature they are often not seen during the day.
A: Bed Bugs prefer to live in groups. They are hard to find, nocturnal creatures. They can hide in the small cracks and crevices of baseboards, wallpaper, walls, mattresses, boxsprings, bed frame, clothes, upholstery, dressers, nightstands, luggage, curtains, closets, and furniture crevices.
A: Bed bugs are notorious for hitchhiking. They are found most commonly in hotels, movie theaters, schools, airplanes and public transportation. They can catch a ride on your luggage, purse, or even on a person. Often they are introduced into a home from furniture bought from yard sales.

A: Some may or may not get have a visible allergic reaction to the bite. Usually an allergic reaction has raised red bumps or a skin irritation with an itching sensation. Some people may experience a mild to severe reaction accompanied with itchiness, where as others may not.

A: Typically only one treatment is needed but each circumstance is dependent on the level of infestation. Bedbug eggs are very small, hard to locate, and may survive treatment, or tiny bed bug nymphs are unaffected by pesticide of the prior treatment.
A: In most cases we don't recommend discarding mattresses, box springs, or furniture that is infested as most often these items can be inspected and treated successfully.
